ViendoMovies, the premium movie channel owned by SOMOSTV (a company led by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group), which airs the best contemporary Spanish-language films 24 hours a day without commercial interruptions, presents a special August lineup featuring premieres and themed cycles focused on Latin talent and specific genres. This month, in addition to its premieres, the channel will showcase a cycle dedicated to acclaimed Dominican actor Manolo Ozuna and a selection of films adapted from Spanish-language literary works. These programming choices reflect ViendoMovies’ ongoing commitment to promoting Spanish-language cinema, its artists and genres, as well as the traditions and celebrations of the Hispanic market in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Heading the Premieres of the month ViendoMovies presents “Explota, explota” (Spain, 2020). This lively musical comedy adventure stars Ingrid García Jonsson, Verónica Echegui, and Fernando Guallar. Directed by Nacho Álvarez, the film features renditions of songs by Raffaella Carrà and tells the story of María, a young, sensual dancer yearning for freedom during a time in Spain marked by censorship and rigidity—especially on television.

Every Sunday in August at 9:00 PM, ViendoMovies will air films starring popular Dominican actor and comedian Manolo Ozuna. Dominican cinema, particularly comedy, enjoys strong popularity among Latin audiences, reflecting the significance of this vibrant community in the U.S. Hispanic market.
