Directed by Mario Muñoz and based on the novel by Martín Solares, the film was adapted by Muñoz and Solares. With this high-profile Mexican film, ViendoMovies reaffirms its commitment to the Latino community in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, continuing to promote and showcase the best Spanish-language cinema and its artists while celebrating Hispanic traditions and festivities in both regions.

Los Minutos Negros is a Mexican crime thriller from 2021, starring Leonardo Ortizgris, Kristyan Ferrer, and Sofía Espinoza. Set in the late 1970s, the story unfolds in Paracuán, a turbulent oil town in Mexico. Vicente Rangel, a musician turned detective, embarks on a case to capture a serial killer targeting young girls in a corrupt Gulf town. The young lieutenant Vicente Rangel (played by Leonardo Ortizgris) faces the darkest days of his life while trying to catch "El Chacal," a murderer hiding within a web of corruption and power. The noir-style film delves into a crime story filled with intrigue, violence, corruption, and heroism.

With eight nominations at the Ariel Awards and three wins, the film also received recognition at the San Diego Latino Film Festival and was an official selection at the Morelia International Film Festival.
