ViendoMovies, the pay-TV film channel owned by SOMOSTV (a company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group), which programs the best contemporary movies produced in Spanish, 24 hours a day and without commercial breaks, presents during the month of March, every Sunday at 9:00 pm, a film cycle dedicated to Leo Harlem, the Spanish actor and comedian. Leo Harlem is one of the most famous comedians in that country and has performed in most of the major theaters in Spain, such as the Teatro Compac on Gran Vía in Madrid, the Coliseum in Barcelona, the Olympia theater in Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza, and others. His career in film and TV is quite extensive, participating in more than a dozen feature films and several comedy shows on the small screen. SOMOSTV's movie channel has been characterized by presenting cycles with the best talent in Spanish language cinema, in line with its mission to disseminate the product of an industry that has received international recognition.
The Leo Harlem cycle begins on Sunday, March 2nd with the premiere of the comedy "Como Dios Manda" (2023) starring Leo Harlem, María Morales, and Daniel Pérez Prada. In it, Andrés Cuadrado is a strict official of the Ministry of Finance. He considers and takes for granted that everything responds to a natural, hierarchical, and immovable order. After an unfortunate confrontation with a co-worker, he is sanctioned and transferred to "Igualdad," where everything is new to him. There he will have to catch up to adapt to this new order of things. This hilarious comedy was part of the official selection at the 2023 Málaga Festival. The cycle continues on March 9th with the comedy "A todo tren, destino Asturias" (2021) where Leo Harlem is accompanied by the extraordinary comedian Santiago Segura. The story narrates the circumstances of Ricardo, a responsible father devoted to his son, who decides to take him to a camp in Asturias. Some parents propose that he also take several of their children but do not count on Felipe, the grandfather of two of the children, an extravagant and irresponsible guy, accompanying them at the last minute. When the train starts with the children alone inside, a crazy chase by the father and grandfather to catch the train begins, and a wild journey by the children.
On March 16th, "Super Agente Makey" (2020) is scheduled, where Harlem co-stars with Jordi Sánchez and Silvia Abril. In it, José Miguel "Makey" is a friendly policeman who loves his job and has an excessive sense of responsibility and honor. His life takes a turn when, after causing a small great disaster, he is assigned to the Costa del Sol as a traffic officer. There, Makey will reunite with his daughter and find himself, unwittingly, involved in a dangerous international drug trafficking plot. The cycle continues on March 23rd with "El mejor Verano de mi Vida" (2018) where Curro, a kitchen robot salesman, dreams of a job in the financial world. In the midst of a couple's crisis and with heavy debts, he makes a promise: if his 9-year-old son Nico gets all A's, he will take him on an unforgettable summer vacation, resulting in a trip with situations they could never have imagined. Finally, on March 30th, ViendoMovies shows "Hasta que la Boda nos Separe" (2020) where Leo Harlem is accompanied by Belén Cuesta, Álex García, and Silvia Alonso.
In addition to promoting Spanish-language cinema and its artists, ViendoMovies also celebrates the traditions and festivities of the Hispanic market in the United States and Puerto Rico, thus enhancing its cultural relevance.
