The Oscar Martínez cycle begins with the 2018 drama “Las Grietas de Jara,” starring Oscar Martínez, Joaquín Furriel, Santiago Segura, Soledad Villamil, and Laura Novoa. In it, Leonor arrives at an architecture firm looking for Nelson Jara. No one seems to have heard that name. The truth is that the enigmatic character was harmed by the firm due to a crack in his house caused by a construction problem. Leonor discovers this and more. The film was among the highest-grossing in its year of release, being nominated for Critics’ and Argentine Film Academy awards. The cycle continues on Sunday, November 10, with “Yo, Mi Mujer y Mi Mujer Muerta” (Spain, Argentina, 2019), for which Oscar Martínez received the Best Actor award at the Málaga Spanish Film Festival. The film stars Oscar Martínez, Carlos Areces, and Ingrid García-Jonsson. In it, Bernardo wants to fulfill the last wish of his late Spanish wife and scatter her ashes on the Costa del Sol where she was born and visited every year. What he did not expect was to discover things about his beloved’s past that completely changed his memory of her.

On Sunday, November 17, “Koblic” (Spain, Argentina, 2016) is scheduled. “Kóblic” is a police drama co-written and directed by Sebastián Borensztein and starring Ricardo Darín, Oscar Martínez, and Inma Cuesta. It was awarded two Silver Biznagas at the Málaga Film Festival. The film is set in 1977, during the last Argentine civic-military dictatorship. Tomás Kóblic, a Navy pilot, arrives in the fictional town of Colonia Elena to work as a crop-dusting pilot in the area. From his arrival, an intrigue builds involving Kóblic with Velarde, the local sheriff, and some town characters. In parallel, the reasons that pushed Naval Captain Koblic Tomas to desert the Argentine Navy service to work as a civilian in a forgotten part of the Argentine pampas are narrated. Finally, the Oscar Martínez cycle ends on Sunday, November 24, with “Inseparables” (2016, Argentina), a dramatic comedy written and directed by Marcos Carnevale. It is a remake of the French film “Untouchables,” which grossed $400 million worldwide and stars Oscar Martínez and Rodrigo De La Serna. In this dramatic comedy, Felipe (Oscar Martínez) is a wealthy businessman whose life has completely changed. He has just become a quadriplegic and is looking for a therapeutic assistant. Although he has a long list of candidates, in the end, Tito (Rodrigo De la Serna) is the lucky one. This young man was his gardener’s assistant, and despite not meeting the qualifications, Felipe remains firm in his decision. At first, they seem not to get along well due to their different personalities, but little by little, they learn to trust each other.
