The Mexican Revolution was an armed conflict that began in Mexico on November 20, 1910. The war stems from popular discontent towards the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz. Las Vueltas del Citrillo, a film that participates in this cycle, was directed by the famous director Felipe Cazals and won 6 Ariel Awards, including best film, adapted screenplay, leading actor (Damián Alcázar) and supporting actor (José María Yazpik). Las Vueltas del Citrillo makes mention of what happened in those times. In a bar in Mexico City, a police chief, two policemen, and two prostitutes get drunk and talk about how each adjusts to their miserable existence during the dictatorship.

ViendoMovies also shows Ciudadano Buelna. With 6 nominations and 2 Ariel awards, the biographical production tells the life of Rafael Buelna Tenorio (Sebastián Zurita), a law student from Sinaloa, who dreamed of an egalitarian country. Committed to his ideals, and with the support of his wife María Luisa Sarría (Marimar Vega), Buelna fights for his deep conviction of justice and equity, and dies at the age of 33, going down as a young nonconformist, unknown by the Mexican history.

The celebration of this date culminates with the great Mexican success Chicogrande. Following Columbus's invasion of New Mexico, Pancho Villa retires, only to be wounded by Mexican troops in the city of Guerrero. The American militia is after his capture dead or alive. Convalescing, Villa takes refuge deep in the mountains while Chicogrande (Damián Alcázar), an anonymous hero of the Mexican Revolution, is tasked with finding medical assistance as he prepares to give his life in the attempt. Chicogrande received 8 nominations and two awards at the Ariel Awards.
