ViendoMovies Celebrates the Day of the Dead

MIAMI, Fl., October, 2020 – ViendoMovies, the exclusive 24-hour Spanish movies channel, commercial-free, with the best contemporary films, owned by SOMOSTV commemorates important festivities for the Latino community, this time El Día de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead, a relevant date for the Mexican community. On November 1, the channel will present a series of films so that the audience can enjoy this colorful and meaningful date.

History indicates that the tradition of the Day of the Dead arrived in Mexico in the 16th century with the Spanish conquerors, who practiced a ritual from medieval Christian Europe that consisted of setting a table with flowers and food to feed those who had already left. Featured films include Mole de Olla, a comedy that runs around Chauita, a woman famous among her family and friends for preparing an exceptional mole de olla. For reasons of fate, Chauita passes away and forces her relatives to unravel a series of incredible family secrets. In Yo Mi Mujer Y Mi Mujer Muerta, awarded at the Malaga Festival, is a hilarious comedy where after her grave is vandalized an architecture professor takes his wife's ashes to Costa del Sol. Another great comedy is He Matado A Mi Marido where a desperate woman accidentally murders her unfaithful husband on the morning of a big party, now she must survive the pain of heartbreak on a night of celebration, undiscovered.

As an outstanding film is Flores, with 17 nominations for the Goya, San Sebatián, Feroz awards, among others. Ane's life turned upside down when she began to anonymously receive a bouquet of flowers at her home every week. For their part, the lives of Lourdes (Itziar Ituñoda) and Tere (Itziar Aizpuru) are also affected by mysterious flowers. Every week a stranger places a bouquet in memory of someone who was important in their lives. This is the story of three women, three lives altered by the mere presence of some flowers. Flowers that will make them sprout feelings that seemed forgotten.
