MIAMI, Fl., August 2020 – ViendoMovies, the commercial free channel owned by SOMOSTV (company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of the SOMOS Group) featuring exclusive movies, originally produced in Spanish, premiers this Sunday, August 16,the original and successful movie La Región Salvaje from Mexico. 

The film reinforces the channel’s programming strategy, which shows outstanding contemporary productions, representative of the quality and style of the cinema in Spanish. Directed and written by Amat Escalante, who has directed 7 more productions (including the famous Narcos: Mexico series), the plot conveys a powerful image of the social realism and the science fiction. This is the story of Alejandra (Ruth Ramos) and Ángel (Jesús Meza), a couple who lives in a small city in Mexico. Their country lifestyle is altered with the arrival of Verónica (Simone Bucio). Sex and love are fragile in this region where taboos still exist. Veronica convinces them that in an isolated cabin there is something mysterious that is the answer to all their problems. 

Among the most outstanding nominations and awards that La Región Salvaje obtained are the Ariel Awards, Fénix Awards, San Sebastian Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, among others. 

During the month of August, La Región Salvaje premiers along with other releases: La Familia (Venezuela), A Punto de Llegar (Puerto Rico), Aquí y Ahora (Costa Rica) and Vitoria 3 de Marzo (Spain). In addition, and as a celebration of the Mexican talent, the audience will be able to enjoy a special movie cycle by the famous actors Cecilia Suárez and Sebastián Zurita.
