22-06-2020

MIAMI, Fl., June, 2019 – ViendoMovies, the 24-hours a day SOMOSTV (company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group) channel featuring exclusive, commercial free movies, originally produced in Spanish, presents its summer cycle this July with a fresh and exclusive programming for its audience. Due to the stay-at-home regulations, this summer will be different with higher levels of television exposure, hence, ViendoMovies is focusing on entertaining and relaxing programming to mitigate the confinement.

Among the premieres in July, Hombre de Fe (Costa Rica) stands out. This biographical film tells the great story of soccer player Keylor Navas. From his beginnings in a rural area of Costa Rica called Pérez Zeledón, Keylor has found his passion in soccer and an escape to a better life. On his way to become the best goalkeeper, and thus help his family, he will face an unknown city and challenges that will test his character, but that will make him discover the true strength behind his goals.

Las Grietas de Jara (Argentina) y La Familia premiered in August. The dramatic thriller of Las Grietas de Jara stars Oscar Martínez and Joaquín Furriel. Leonor arrives at an architecture studio looking for Nelson Jara (Martínez). No one seems to have an answer for her including Pablo Simó (Furriel), the studio's oldest architect. But they are all lying. The truth begins to unravel through Simó's memories. The fear and nervousness that arises among this group of architects will show something much darker and more suspicious, the disappearance of Nelson Jara. Nominated for Best Opera Prima at the Platino Awards, La Familia follows Andrés and his 12-year-old son Pedro. Both live in a poor neighborhood of Caracas, although they barely see each other on a daily basis. While Andrés uses his time to work, Pedro spends his on the streets playing with his friends and learning about the violent place that surrounds him.

Culminating the summer months, the channel presents in September a cycle of original premieres that are Campeones Sub 17 (Mexico), Matar a Jesús (Colombia), ¿Quién te Cantará? (Spain), Veneno (Dominican Republic) and Sin Rodeos (Spain).

Based on real events, Campeones Sub 17 tells the story of the technical director of the Mexican soccer sub 17 and its 21 players under the age of seventeen who won the first World Cup for Mexico. Award winner at the San Sebastián Festival, Havana and the Phoenix Awards, Matar a Jesús shows the dramatic story of Paula, a 22-year-old young student who witnesses the murder of her father. From a distance, she manages to see the killer as he spews away on a motorcycle. Devastated by the pain after the events, Paula and her family will have to face the incompetent authorities that will make no effort to clarify what happened. ¿Quién te Cantará? It stars the talented Najwa Nimri representing Lila Cassen, a successful Spanish singer who mysteriously disappears one day. Ten years later, Lila prepares her triumphant return to the stage but suffers an accident and forgets who she is. Violeta (Eva Llorach), a super fan of the musical icon, will be the only one who can teach Lila Cassen to become Lila Cassen again. Continuing with the dramatic genre, Veneno is the story of Jack "Veneno", the most famous wrestling fighter in the Dominican Republic and his greatest enemy Jose "Relámpago" Hernandez.

In the comedy Sin Rodeos, Paz has an apparently perfect life but still, there is something that does not click for her. Desperate, she will go to a Hindu "healer" who will offer her a potion that releases tension. The potion seems more powerful than expected, and accidentally, Paz ingested the entire bottle, becoming a surprising and "unfiltered" woman.
