MIAMI, Fl., May, 2019 – ViendoMovies, the pay-tv channel with the best contemporary films in Spanish will pay homage to 5 Hispanic-American actors who have achieved fame and recognition in Hollywood through their successes on the big screen. Every Sunday night durig the month of June, ViendoMovies will present Latinos in Hollywood, a movie cycle that shows performances by the actors Javier Barden, Penélope Cruz, Demian Bichir, Jordi Mollà and John Leguizamo.

Starting on June 2, the channel presents Huevos de Oro. This dramatic comedy tells the story of Benito Gonzalez (Javier Barden), an ambitious man who wants to accomplish two dreams: marry the woman he loves and build a great skyscraper. Benito gets his desired wedding, but learns that his wife cheats on him with his best friend. He has no choice but to concentrate on the skyscraper’s construction. Without money, he manages to marry Marta, the daughter of a billionaire businessman. From that moment, he will accumulate a great fortune, but his excessive ambition will precipitate his decline.

On Sunday 9, the cycle continues with Penélope Cruz starring Ma Ma. The film was awarded with 14 nominations in eight film festivals (including the Goya Awards) and winner of the Fotogramas de Plata Award and Platinum Awards for best actress. Penelope Cruz personifies Magda, an unemployed teacher who is diagnosed with breast cancer. The international actress plays a character that thanks to her courage and optimism, she creates for herself and her closed ones unexpected scenes of humor and happiness.

On Sunday December 16, Demian Bichir stars in Muerte en Buenos Aires, a film full of drama that highlights the homosexuality of the 80s in Buenos Aires. Inspector Chávez is in charge of an homicide’s investigation that involves a very wealthy family of the city. At the crime scene, he meets agent Gomez who, after much insistence, becomes his right hand. As the investigation progresses, Chávez realizes that it is not so easy to choose who to trust his life. 

Jordi Mollà is the star of the film Operación Concha played on Sunday 23. An unscrupulous businessman leads a film production company that has gone bankrupt. Desperate and without money, he tries to hire the famous actor Ray Silvela, but when he denies his offer, he is forced to work with the double of Ray (Jordi Mollà) and lie to everyone. Taking advantage of the context of the San Sebastian Film Festival, the big scam begins.

To conclude, on Sunday 30, ViendoMovies presents John Leguizamo in the film Crónicas, winner of an Ariel Award and nominated 6 times in different Festivals. Manolo Bonilla (Leguizamo) is an ambitious journalist with a Hispanic program in Miami. Looking for a story that raises the ratings, Bonilla travels to a town in Ecuador to investigate a children’s serial killer known as "The Monster of Babahoyo."
