SOMOS DISTRIBUTION PRESENTS NEW TURKISH DRAMAS AT CONTENT AMERICAS

SOMOS Distribution, the global content distribution company that is part of SOMOS Group and led by Luis Villanueva, will attend Content Americas 2026 with a varied offering of Turkish dramas, attractive family series from sister companies, telenovelas, and comedy programs from Latin American producers. The event, to be held January 19–22 at the Hilton Miami Downtown, will feature distributors and content producers from around the world and marks the start of the year’s activities.
For Content Americas, SOMOS Distribution is presenting new Turkish drama titles led by Secrets of Pearls, Hekimoglu, and For My Son. With these three dramas, the company strengthens its catalog of these successful productions that have made an impact on the global telenovela market. Secrets of Pearls consists of 135 episodes and 2 seasons. The drama tells the story of Azem, a literature teacher who loses his perfect life when he is imprisoned and accused of killing his wife. After years in prison, he dreams of being reunited with his children, now adopted by different families. Once freed, he meets Dilber, a troubled dancer, and an uncertain relationship develops. To survive, he gives private lessons under another name and becomes attracted to Piraye, the mother of one of his students. Torn between divided love and the passage of time, Azem fights to rebuild his life and recover what he lost.
The drama Hekimoglu, with 157 episodes, stars Timuçin Esen as Ateş Hekimoğlu, the infamous infectious disease and nephrology doctor who solves extraordinary medical cases through distinctive methods with his team of three. The series follows the daily life of this antisocial, clever, and nonconformist medical genius who challenges hospital rules and does whatever is necessary to practice medicine his own way. Accompanied by Orhan Yavuz (Okan Yalabık), as Hekimoğlu's reputation gradually grows, his inability to abide by the hospital hierarchy often causes trouble for the administrator, Ipek (Ebru Özkan). This local adaptation of the successful U.S. series House M.D. touches on themes of love, sacrifice, camaraderie, discipline, and humanity in each episode. The show has been voted the best remake in the history of Turkish television by viewers.
The new additions to the Turkish drama portfolio conclude with For My Son, a production consisting of 242 episodes and 3 seasons. The story follows the drama of Poyraz Karayel (İlker Kaleli), an officer suspended from the police force for a crime he did not commit. After leaving prison, Poyraz finds himself without a job or family. His son is no longer with him. As he tries to devise a plan to regain custody of his son and his profession, his former boss offers him a mission: he must infiltrate one of the city's most notorious mafia families. Bahri Umman (Musa Uzunlar) is a powerful crime boss. Poyraz must gather intelligence on the organization and bring Bahri to justice. Only then can he restore his reputation and reclaim his life. Along the way, Poyraz and Bahri’s daughter, Ayşegül (Burçin Terzioğlu), fall in love. However, this love seems impossible, as Poyraz must keep his mission a secret from her. The operation of his life awaits him.
Secrets of Pearls, Hekimoglu, and For My Son join other dramas in SOMOS Distribution’s portfolio of successful Turkish productions such as Bahar, Love For Rent, Gummus, Destiny, and That Girl. The company also offers the RCTV catalog, with major remastered HD telenovelas such as Juana La Virgen and Mi Gorda Bella, as well as an entire catalog of important romantic telenovelas from all eras for AVOD and FAST business models.
At Content Americas, SOMOS Distribution will also offer series such as Hora 0 and Behzat Hammer & Rose, in addition to Ramirez, a Peruvian police series, and successful series from sister company SOMOS Productions, including Hasta que Te Conocí, Súbete a mi Moto, Gina Yei, and Lucy es el 7. Also being presented are the comedy shorts from Enchufe TV, with 21 seasons in 22‑minute editions. Enchufe.tv is a humor space for Latin American and Hispanic audiences featuring light, entertaining portrayals of everyday characters.
