MIAMI, Fl., March, 2023 – ViendoMovies, the channel owned by SOMOSTV (company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group) that programs the best exclusive movies produced in Spanish 24 hours a day and without commercial breaks, brings to the channel's Latino audience programming of excellent quality for the months of April, May and June. The film channel has selected programming in line with its strategy of showcasing the best of contemporary cinema in Spanish.
In April, the channel premieres La Ofrenda (Spain/France), based on the life of Jan, a mysterious character beset by a deep sense of guilt, who tries to recover Violeta, a love of youth who lost 20 years ago, with a disgusting plan. The film was the winner of several Gaudi Awards, recognition for the best films, artists and technicians of the Catalan film sector. ViendoMovies also presents El Año de la Furia (Uruguay), nominated for the international prize of the Warsaw International Festival. El Año de la Furia represents an interesting time of life in the South American country, when the life of the writers of a television program in Uruguay is affected by the pressures of the military in the year preceding the military coup of 1973. These premieres are accompanied by the film Con Quien Viajas (Spain), a curious production about the journey of four strangers by car to Cieza, Murcia, thanks to a ridesharing application. The driver seems to hide something and behaves strangely. The trip will be very surreal and more fun than you expected. Con Quien Viajas was nominated for best film at the Malaga Festival and the Almeria Festival.
In the month of May ViendoMovies brings the films Hasta que La Boda Nos Separe, a Spanish comedy that narrates the circumstances of Marina, a thirty-year-old who makes a living organizing weddings. Unlike her clients, she enjoys a life without ties or commitments, until one night she meets Carlos, one more affair for her and a moment of weakness for him. The quarterly premieres also include Matar a Pinochet, a Chilean drama about the fifteen years of the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile. A group of men and women led by Ramiro and Tamara set out to put an end to the tyrant. The film recalls a real event, Operation Twentieth Century, carried out by the Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front and which failed. It took place in 1986 and the objective of the operation was to assassinate Augusto Pinochet, to whom the title of the film alludes .
Culminating with this spring cycle, in the month of June, ViendoMovies brings the films Si Yo Fuera Rico (Spain) and En Temporada Baja (Spain), both in the comedy genre, and Animo Juventud (Mexico), winner of the Morelia festival award. This film tells the adventures of four teenagers who move towards adult life: Martín, in love with a girl he barely knows; Sweet, the outside, tender on the inside; Daniel, who will be a teenage father and Pedro, a child fed up with adults.
