MIAMI, Fl.; October, 2018 –
Semillitas, the 24-hour commercial free animation channel for children between
0-5 years of age, owned by SomosTV, announces a new addition to its
programming: Monster Math Squad, a
colorful animated series for preschoolers. This new series reinforces the
presence of recognized animated series that characterizes the children's
channel and also meets the educational requirements that have always been part
of Semillitas. The series was created in Canada by Jeff Rosen and produced by
DHX Media for CBC Television.
Monster Math Squad presents a group of friendly monsters that solve
problems for their friends using mathematical equations, in everyday
situations, without conflict and in a friendly way. Children will learn initial
mathematical concepts, such as counting, estimating and comparing numbers. In
the program the monsters encourage their viewers to "join the squad"
and learn to use mathematics.
The television show has been very
well received by the audience in Canada, the United States, in Latin America
and in the United Kingdom.
Luis Villanueva, President and
CEO of SOMOSTV, said "Incorporating Monster
Math Squad to Semillitas strengthens its mission to support children’s
education in an entertaining way. This series reaffirms our cultural relevance,
in a healthy and entertaining space."
This new addition adds to
Semillitas a program that focuses on teaching the little ones the numbers in a
fun way. Along with the other animated brands and in-house produced content Monster Math Squad will be a perfect
complement to this channel specially designed for Spanish-speaking parents to
promote Spanish in their preschool children and thus manage to maintain the
language at home.
