MIAMI, Fl., August 2020 – ViendoMovies, the commercial free channel owned by SOMOSTV (company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of the SOMOS Group) featuring exclusive movies, originally produced in Spanish, culminates the summer season with award-winning premieres from different genres of contemporary Ibero-American cinema. At the same time, ViendoMovies gives special attention on the 16th of this month to the Mexico's Independence Day with a set of Mexican productions that stand out for their quality and positive reviews. 

The premieres for this month are Yuli (Spain, United Kingdom, Cuba, Germany and France), ¿Qué Te Juegas? (Spain), Perseguida (Colombia), Angels Inc (Mexico), No Me Digas Solterona (Peru) and Blindado (Venezuela). Together with these premieres, ViendoMovies also honors the Mexican Indeoendece Day, with a set of films from that country: La Gran Promesa, El Ombligo De Guiedani, El Hotel, Campeones México Sub 17, Mexican Gangster, Mole De Olla, Maquinaria Panamericana, Hidalgo la Historia Jamás Contada and La Cuarta Compañía.

Among September's featured titles is the award-winning film Yuli. Yuli is a biographical drama that got 14 nominations and won 4 international film awards among the Goya, Feroz, San Sebastián and Platino Awards. The film tells the story of Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, who was the first dancer of color to perform some of ballet's most famous roles in companies such as the Houston Ballet and Royal Ballet of London (where he has been the lead dancer for more than 15 years). The film is a temporary journey from his hard childhood to his maturity in a trajectory where he never forgot his origins.

¿Qué Te Juegas? is a romantic comedy starring talented actors Leticia Dolera, Amaia Salamanca and Javier Rey. Roberto (Rey) and Daniela (Salamanca) are two wealthy siblings. Both are CEOs of a company, although they have a totally opposite attitude towards life. However, both find their way out of their disagreements when they fall in love with the same woman: Isabel (Dolera).  ¿Qué Te Juegas? was nominated for the Malaga Awards, where it received very good reviews.

In the suspense genre is Perseguida. Mariana Duran, a 27-year-old woman develops a paranoid state the night she witnesses the crime of the parents of a minor. Due to fate, Mariana takes care of this minor, who also fears for her life, as they are the target of the murderers. Together, they must discover the motive behind their persecution and the reason for the murder.

This month's programming strategy summarizes the purpose of ViendoMovies to present a selection of top-quality contemporary films, from various Spanish-speaking countries and genres, and at the same time to celebrate their ephemeris, thus underlining the cultural relevance of the channel.
