MIAMI, Fl., December, 2020– ViendoMovies, the 24-hours a day SOMOSTV (company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group) channel featuring exclusive, commercial free movies, originally produced in Spanish, celebrates with its subscribers Christmas’s Eve and closes 2020 with good cinema from our Hispanic countries. During these important dates for the Latino community, where family and friends share and entertain themselves in the living rooms of their homes in front of the television screen (even more so during this year), the channel has programmed a set of specially selected films for these holidays.
On December 24, ViendoMovies begins the celebration with the Mexican film Campeones Mexico sub-17, a film based on real events and nominated for the Ariel Awards. The film tells the story of a coach and his 21 players under the age of 17 who brought the first soccer World Cup to Mexico. The plot goes beyond the soccer fields telling all the adventures and sacrifices that the players and the coaching staff went through on their way to achieve victory.
Another exclusive hits for this day, and also relevant to an important community in the Hispanic market, is the Puerto Rican film Broche de Oro: Comienzos. This is the story of three friends who meet at an old man's house and with their typical wit, recruit other residents to defy the rules and enter a contest for a prize. The presence of Caribbean communities is also accentuated with Pobres Millonarios (Dominican Republic), where all the members of a wealthy Dominican family have a very expensive lifestyle with no control, until due to misfortunes of fate, they find themselves in poverty, forced to live in a poor neighborhood and do business with a greedy moneylender.
To end the year and start 2021, on December 31st, ViendoMovies brings the award-winning Spanish film El Reino. With 27 nominations and 32 international awards (including 7 Goyas), the film starring Antonio de la Torre presents a story where politics and corruption go hand in hand, and where the media and friends become the worst enemies. Along with this success is the Dominican film Pueto Pa'Mi (musical drama) and the Spanish drama/comedy film Como la Espuma.
The channel thanks all its audience for having it allowed to enter their homes during all these months and trusting in the exclusive programming that ViendoMovies offers and will maintain for the year 2021.
